WHAT IS Sci4NY?

Science for New York (Sci4NY) is an initiative that aims to bridge gaps between policy and scientific communities in NYC. We achieve this through project-based interaction, to the mutual benefit of both groups and the City as a whole. While Sci4NY provides expertise on scientific and technical matters related to policy, it does to make, support or endorse any specific policy and/or policy-related recommendations. The main areas of focus are currently:

Climate Change & Energy

Big Data

Technology

While the primary focus is on science policy, any project that might benefit from additional technical analysis and/or critical thinking will be considered.

For Policy Makers

We provide direct support from experts to address science-based questions or analytical needs that arise during the course of their efforts.

For Scientists

We give them the opportunity to learn about policy through first-hand experience, while applying their knowledge and skills to real-world issues.
